Claws Review

I rate it four stars.

It was a good book.  Bella, the cat Mickey (the main character) has to take care of, gets hit by a truck. He goes to Cat Heaven to try to find a replacement Bella but ends up letting a bunch of dead cats go.  Cat Heaven was described well. It said, “the smell of lemon air freshener and cat litter filled the room.” Rows and rows of cat cages stretched as far as you can see. Cat Heaven is a 2 story building where dead cats go. The keep out room was dark and musty with a row or two of cats. The light of the sun starting to set gleamed through the window of the room. The cats he let go will haunt him forever unless he finds a way to make them all die again and go back to Cat Heaven. Bits of Mickey’s fish floated on top of his fish tank because the cats ate them. Cats attacked him in the locker room at gym class. To resolve his problem he feeds his pet mouse to them. They all die the same way they died before so they aren't Mickey’s troubles any more. He will never have to see them again. At the end of the book Mickey is really sad about his mouse. His mom is driving down the road and he sees a sign that says Mouse Heaven.
